Meekos was the last of his line and recently passed away - soon after I was introduced to American Indian dogs and it is now our pleasure to be working on getting a new addition to our family!

Happy Birthday Rose! We have been out of town. I was going through some old pictures the other day, and came across one of those ones where you are holding up a young dog, but I wondered if it was Ma'ii or Hawk? I thought I had that pic before you had Ma'ii,....but that can't be right? Time flies..

The best part of the picture, is your smile. I look at that, and I know that same feeling, so well (although it looks a lot better on you!). It's the picture and the thousand words, all over again.

Happy birthday to you, and many many more. How about a current picture of Ma'ii when you have the time?

Hey Allison,

The picture you are refering to is of Rose in the middle with her Chief, I am on her left with my Hawk and on Roses right is my sis Karen with her dog Ma ii.

As for pictures of Ma ii I don't think that my sis comes on the site much. They are going to be here in Oregon in about two weeks. Our neice is getting married in June, so they will up for that. Maybe I could take some current photos of Ma ii and send them too you.

Hawk and I are going to be busy for about 9 days. Rose and her hubby are traveling to New Orleans for business. So we get to have Chief. I can't wait, he is such a sweetie. So, more photos will come your way. It's hard to believe that he will be 11 months old this month. Can you tell I am a proud dog grammy!!!

Chief, that's right. I was mixing up that photo of Hawk and Ma'ii in the back of the station wagon (the Dec. 2007 Dog of the Month), with the picture of Rose. Lots of dogs among your family. 23 years old, though,.... I got my first dog at twice that age. Ouch.

No that's not the picture I meant; I'll find it. I think it is the first picture you sent me, of Rose, so it may be Hawk.

Thanks for reminding me about that other one!

Actually, Rose's first dog was when she was 15 months old. Ginger was a collie/hound mix. We had her 11 years. Rose use to ride her like a horse when she was younger. Ginger and Rose actually grew up together. We got Ginger when she was around 3 months old.

But, yes Chief is Rose's first dog with her hubby.
