I got to add my favorite Owner's Opinion to Kim's page. It's the top one. A very nice recommendation. We are trying to update this whole section, so keep us in mind. We've got some great ideas of how to handle these better, and we look forward to including you current and soon-to-be owners.

One could argue that evolution suggests we’re not idiots, but I would say, “Well, no. Evolution just makes sure we’re not blithering idiots."

You just can't stay very long from the boards here or you miss sooo much!
Goodness!
I read the Owner's Opinions and had to smile. What wonderful testimonies to these incredible animals!
Kim, your hard work and dedication to this amazing breed shows in the quality of the animals that come from your kennels.
I was originally introduced to this breed by a friend at work who showed me the website; he didn't have one yet, but this was the dog he knew he wanted.
We talked about them quite a bit; but, at the time neither of us could afford one or lived where we could really take care of them.
That was over 10 years ago....I have never looked at another breed; just knew this was the one for me.
When I went to the Ranch to meet Kim and make sure this "really" was the breed for me as soon as I caught sight of the dogs I knew.
Talking with Kim in my interview was very interesting. He knows people like he knows his dogs. I could feel him sizing me and my son up to see if we were worthy.
Whew....I passed muster on that one.
Luko~ta still acts like a puppy at four years old. In fact, no water bottle is safe in anywhere in our house! He is hilarious! It is the only thing he has ever chewed up.
He loves to chew on the tops of plastic water bottles, not soda or anything else....just water. Why he chose those? Kim did he just not get enough "fancy" water at your place?
I am going to have to get a little video of his antics when my son asks him to do anything! The silly dog goes nuts. I can see what everyone says though in how he will learn your behavior and work with it. He is still scared of the cars so he will not go on my son's morning long walk with him; but, he knows how long Branden "should" be gone because he will start waiting by the door at about that time.
Learning commands and their intelligence? Saying these dogs are intelligent almost seems like an understatement. They are intuitive and wise....not just smart. They learn quickly from you and their environment. Take Cy, for example, I have had her a very, very short time yet she not only obeys every thing I ask...she actually anticipates!
I didn't teach her anything, yet, in days after meeting her I can ask her to sit, get up, lay down, leave, move, follow, wait, stay......and the list goes on. I can use hand signals with her that I only started asking for yesterday. She knows what they mean and what I mean. I think she also knows I am typing about her since she just came over to get some affection.
She is respectful and watchful; as if she knows my limitations and works with them for me. I know that she will be the reason that I will recover quicker from the surgeries I have coming up, because she doesn't take no for an answer and even when I try she turns those soulful eyes on me and makes me do what is best for both of us. She has helped me get my strength back and I move better than I have in months....just because she is here.
Intelligent, wise, respectful, eager to please, and happy being and doing for "their" human. Yep....that's my AI dogs for you.
