GÜmmi bringing Sitka a stick.

One thing I love about this picture, is that it shows how pack oriented these dogs are. GÜmmi is part of our pack. Although I don't test it too far for obvious reasons, I no longer worry that he will hurt her if she flutters to the floor. He is very protective of her.

She is "That weird feathery noisy pack member.."

LOL

Kinda like JJ and his Peeps. :)

Nice pictures Allison- love them.

By the way, she actually did bring the stick over, and drop it for him. She also gives him food, and her toys when she is through with them. Occasionally, she drops a toy by accident. He is much more careful with her toys, and just slobbers on them until he knows it is okay to destroy them.

You have created a bit of magic in your home Allison. I think it is so cool that Sitka is so respectful to Gummi, and Gummi is so brave and trusting of Sitka. (I don't know how to place those proper marks above the "U"). Now that's some great training, going beyond their natural instincts. :D

Gümmi thinks about biting Sitka. I actually trust Sitka more than Gümmi at this point. She thinks she is indestructible, but I know she is really very delicate, except for that beak, We call her Beakula! Old Razor Lips, etc. The top side is a masher, and the bottom a razor, but the rest of her is very delicate.

There is something called a "character map" where you can get all sorts of strange and foreign scripts. It is in your Microsoft accessories. I just copy and paste. The original German Gümmi bears,....that is where her nickname came from. I do not always bother to add the umlaut, but sometimes like to give people the chance to pronounce it correctly. Many people have taken to saying gum-mee bears, instead of goo-mee bears, which is the original pronunciation.

 Remember, I'm the one who can barely navigate the system. :( These technical things just fly right over my head. I tried to find "Microsoft Accessories," to locate the "character map" and didn't have any luck. Went to system preferences and there is nothing there with that name....I'll keep searching. In the mean time, I'll spell gummy phonetically "Goomee" or just "Razor Lips" instead.

I've had a parrot get a lock on my lip, and it's not fun. They have very strong jaws. I bet Sitka keeps a good space between them.
