miz molly 1,800
From Kim Laflamme: Hi Kim and AIDog owners,I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the beautiful summer weather! In Lakota tradition, the summer months are known as Blokétu — the Warm Moons. Each summer, the camp followed the migrating buffalo and moved often.Women worked to maintain the camp, and were responsible for transporting and unpacking the family’s belongings; they also prepared food and set up tipis. Girls helped gather firewood and water. Boys practiced their hunting skills on small animals. The men made weapons, hunted for game and defended the camp.Things have changed a little since those days. This summer, the Lakota children are enjoying as much time as possible outdoors. In June, our Rising Eagle Day Camp provides area children with a safe place to enjoy traditional arts and crafts, swimming, Lakota games and healthy meals. In July, our summer programs wrap up and preparations begin for the upcoming school year which will begin on August 15.No matter the season, we are grateful for the role YOU play in educating our students and providing activities to help them grow in all aspects of life.God bless,Fr.
