  1. Saw this on the Saving Carolina Dogs facebook site. Very interesting. Very rare wild dog. My Noquisi sounds like this! https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/31/asia/singing-dog-found-in-wild-scn-trnd/index.html?fbclid=IwAR1yYPBMxAQ5sc02QTBjbpCsdOi1SoRFzq3lrgeVcQfUO6aIgHsu0GMtfZ0
  2. We have walnut trees all over our property. Noquisi and Kilchii have not had any seizures. I would also check the yard for weird mushrooms and toadstools. We have small red ones that worry me to death. Has the vet found anything? I hope all is okay now.
  3. Aren't they gorgeous? I've been doing my own genealogy (adopted at birth) since 2000 -- before DNA. Found all on both sides. You're in Illinois? I'm in Capron in Boone County. Are we far apart?
  4. Here is an article in the NY Times from 2018. Actual skeleton found, best estimate at the time they found it was 14,000 to 16,000 years old. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/03/science/horse-skeleton-utah.html
  5. I thought I would share this article. Very interesting. Pics are great. A sister preserving the descendants of ancient horses. The article and then the link to Sacred Way Sanctuary. https://newsmaven.io/indiancountrytoday/news/yes-world-there-were-horses-in-native-culture-before-the-settlers-came-JGqPrqLmZk-3ka-IBqNWiQ https://www.sacredwaysanctuary.org/
  6. The dog park we go to has a creek and he would never go in with the other dogs. Kilchii goes in and Noquisi stands on the side and watches. So he has the opportunity to get in water up to his belly. He just turned 2 so maybe it will get better. Will update.
  7. Anyone had luck getting their dog into water, even a kiddy pool? Noquisi is two years old now and he won't have any part of it. When he was little he was afraid of ripples when the wind blew across standing water. It was like he thought the water was alive. Take him to a lake, and he won't get near the lapping water. On the other hand, Kilchii has no issue with the water and went into the lake and will go into creeks and the such. Was hoping Kilchii would teach him, but Noquisi is having no part of that school! Treats don't work to lure him in either.
  8. I'm so glad to hear that! Sometimes patience prevails (although we go crazy being patient)!
  9. Oh no! Poor baby. He/she does look like one of our AI dogs. Anyone stepping up? I would take him/her but I have two already. Feeling helpless.
  10. For the sake of safety, I'm teaching my Noquisi to sit whenever he sees a moving vehicle. He's almost there. He'll sit when I tell him to, but he's 75% at an automatic sit when he sees moving vehicles. I don't want him to get the idea he can chase after cars or motorcycles. He's also at an automatic sit on recall. He's supposed to sit next to my feet, but he sits on my feet! lol
  11. Maybe this might work. This is NOT a medication taken internally. It's dog pheromone, the kind let off by mother dogs to calm their pups. Worth a try. https://www.adaptil.com/us/Products/ADAPTIL-Travel Also at the same site is a helpful instruction guide to help get the dog used to the car. https://www.adaptil.com/us/Dog/I-WANT-TO-HELP-MY-DOG-WITH-TRAVELING I would purchase it and then use it while following the helpful guide. There are other products here, including a collar with pheromone. Interesting site.

He's gorgeous! Kiss that nose! My Noquisi sings to commercials. He sings softly to soft jingles and loudly to more rambunctious jingles. He knows the word "sing," now and will sing when asked. I sing with him at times so he feels he has a pack to sing with. He's a hoot. If it doesn't bother you, I would encourage him to sing. It's in their blood to sing.
  13. Notify local vets with description and that a chip is available for ID. My heart hurts. I would take a pic of the pup to the local vets so staff can identify. Good luck. This is heart wrenching.
  14. This is going to be a tough nut to crack. Where are you located?
