Meet Zuni Blue!

Recommended Posts

We drove yesterday and picked up our boy...what a great fathers day gift for my husband who has never had a puppy before! We have just had him a day but I have an inkling as to what the magic is about. He was a real good boy all the way home and is settling in like a champ. We hardly know him but he's going to be great I can tell. Not phased by much. I will add more later - just thanks to SDK and to y'all for the great and generous information here!

About as much work as having a child minus the easy jail time. Crate training a baby will be a lot more found upon especially for a car ride.

It is going to be interesting because this will be the first time my daughter got to raise the dog and it was just not there. My two dogs were 6 and 7 when she was born. Maybe I will make you get up and let the dog out. . Zuni has some seriously cool eyes!

The last pictures of Zuni states I eat everything. What an expression and those blue eyes. Beware pups can find almost any hidden thing to chew on. Shale when she was pup manage to pull the TV cable from under the siding and pull it off the house for about 20 feet. Pups love all sorts of chords including extension chords, so watch out for all electrical extensions. I think they like the shock when they chew through the electrical chord. Yum Yum coaxial cables.

I never had too much trouble with Chhaya chewing on things...I've noticed as she gets older (almost 7 now) she is very good at finding herbs and munches on them...

After having a Husky the AI will seem like a breeze. Everyone I know that has a Husky has a story when I thought my dog was being wicked that showed me I how easy I had it. You will not need an 8 foot wall with 3 feet down concrete to keep the AI in your backyard.

coconuts fallen from a tree - with the outer husk on it. As it tries pups / dogs can shred it apart. Take coconut away when it gets to the hard shell - that shell can break teeth.

Tayamni was a lite chewer - I could give her stuffed toys with squeakies in them - Ohhh the squeak fests!

Coffey was a heavy teether and he liked silicone toys. Coffey didn't start tearing apart stuffed toys until about 5 months old.

He even tears apart tug toys! At least he is interested in the toys - but no recycling toys when he is through.

It will be Zuni Blue & Yakutia ..... ahhhhh, I think you have a case of AI Dog fever. I don't think there is a cure - but who would want one?????? :P

You mentioned one dog (pup) and I forgot about that 'other' chew toy - ANOTHER AI DOG!

My family has two AI Dogs now and I want to be in the financial position to add a 3rd .... someday ....

you already have the names ... that's a great start!

Ayita will be 3 in September and had a little hip trouble recently. She had to stay inside. She loves soft white things, always has. Just when I thought it was safe :o

IMG_5836.jpg15 weeks today!! Zuni is a great pup but we still don't have our 3rd round of shots and really can't wait to get out in the world!! We have gone around the block a couple of times and next week we start some puppy training so maybe we'll have some good tips to share. We have tried time outs when the nipping gets a little rough (mostly at the end of day just before pass out) and I've only stuck him in the little playpen area for two or three minutes a couple of times and he seems to be getting the idea that rough play is not allowed. I so wish i had another dog for him to play with -I have taken him to doggie day care twice where he chews on other dogs for 5 hours and he is POOPed when i pick him up. I have fed him raw chicken with bones a couples of times and he always barks at it for a few minutes to make sure its dead. He's really sweet and funny. He likes the himalayan chews but just so-so and loves the flirt pole that someone recommended. Thanks for all the great tips!! 24LBs by the way--wow! IMG_5826.jpgIMG_5874.jpgIMG_5515.jpg
