Sherab 2,337
Great to hear that. These dogs are truly special. ALL dogs are special but these little guys have some real magic in them. Â A few thoughts on puppy eating things - sometimes it can be a vitamin craving, sometimes it's pure puppy nature. Waki ate stones until we really pushed calcium. Keep an eye on what goes in and what comes out. Get good at fishing things our of her mouth. Waki will still occasionally eat inappropriate things. Yesterday he took the legs off a squeeky toy from Petco. He did swallow it, fortunately it came back up but I've crossed that off his list now. He's fast and sneaky. miz molly 1,800
Yep, I kept all cloth toys away because Two Step couldn't distinguish the difference between soft toys and couch pillows and my shoes...NOT GOOD. Thankfully he knows now. He is a chewer, so the only thing I leave out for him to munch on are the antlers..... If he had pockets, they would be full of 'em.
longislandscott 1
hey miz molly!!!i was picking up food and things for quoia this morning....... are the antlers good for the pup also? cause i saw them at pet smart..... is that two step in your profile pic? i wasnt sure if you had two dogs...... HE IS REGAL !!!
Starghoti 466
Antlers and cow hooves are two of my Go-To chew toys (you may have noticed them in the dusty campground at the Gathering.. lol) Both are relatively 'soft' not like bone, so they can actually get somewhere and will chew longer as pups. Chinatola 927
Scott, what a good looking pup Quoia is! Congrats on your new family member. I can second the antler thing. Definitely worth the price of admission & it keeps 'em busy for a long while plus there's no slimy waste product that is produced by pup saliva & rawhide...which is a great thing! LIli loves her antlers...she hoards 'em & takes turns chewing on them so they don't get jealous of the other chewables in the in house.
longislandscott 1
HEY CHINATOLA !!!.....yup ... im gonna get some of those antlers........i brought a small piece of driftwood home from a beach in ELK, CA. ....was gonna carve it up into something, started it one day , and quoia was watching me the whole time.......well the next day she went up and got it off my workbench and made it hers!!! we now play the fetch game with it on a daily basis........went to the vet today...quoia is 15 pounds at 13 weeks......shes such a character.......love her so much!!!my wife diana is also crazy about her!!! my two kids are now coming home on the weekends to hang out and play with quoia!!! shes the main link in the chain...!!!............was so much fun hanging at kims ranch........awesome spot!!!! this was the nite before we took her home!!! miz molly 1,800
Hey L.I.S. That's Tolinka on my profile pic. Thanks for his compliment. He is an amazing canine. He also likes the antlers. Here's a chew story for ya. Yesterday, Two Step must have gotten really board when I was at the grocery store. I wasn't gone for more than 45 minutes...... <_ he dragged his outside bed off the deck down stairs of them path feet on to dining court do weddings here leaving balls stuffing in wake. src="%7B___base_url___%7D/uploads/emoticons/default_ohmy.png" alt=":o"> Then proceeded to take a nap on top of it in the sunshine. That's where I found him........Thank heavens the bed wasn't stuffed with those little plastic balls or I would have had "snow" everywhere. I gathered the stuffing, put it back in the bed and sealed it with duct tape. Great stuff, that duct tape. His bed has a couple of patches on it now and I refuse to get him a new one until he quits this chewing stuff. It has slowed down considerably over the last 7 months, so I imagine it will stop all together at some point....hopefully. Meanwhile he hasn't chewed anything that is of value, but he still gets reprimanded for it. Point being I'm the one that keeps the antlers in my pockets .........just in case.....
