This was a new one for me. We are selling our home, so we have to use the bathroom downstairs to shower, since we are fixing the tub upstairs by the master bedroom.....hubby showers, and while I am getting ready to go downstairs, the little troublemaker was busy......I come down, and there's Wyot, looking for all the world like HE was guilty! Where's Kitchee? Uh oh...I see the bathroom door open....

No dog....open the curtain...and there he is, in the bathtub, quietly licking the sides of the tub, ears down, funny look on his face, and would've looked guilty if he probably wasn't feeling so icky in the mouth. I figured out why he was licking...he needed water to get the taste of SOAP ourt of his mouth!!!!! He had eaten an entire bar of soap!!! Granted, it was a nice, organic bar, with wildcrafted pine....his breath smelled nice...but oh my, my panic! hubby forgot to close the door, so he went in, looking for adventure, of course...what else do puppies do???

Ran to look up what to do in that kind of situation...he wouldn't go out and eat grass...which would induce vomiting. What to do? Kept researching and found a remedy...he did not enjoy it, but it did the trick. Feed a little snack, or a piece of bread (which I did), and 1 tsp of hydrogen peroxide per 10 pounds of weight. So, I got a dropper and had to grab the slippery little puppy urchin, and administered it in three doses. What a look, and his ears stayed sideways, like airplane wings! Sure enough, half an hour later, it all came up. I think it was twice the size of the original, and looked...bubbly!

He was good as new. So, if anyone finds themselves in this kind of a situation....remember, hydrogen peroxide. Always an adventure with our guys!!! Gotta love love love them!

Oh, my, goodness. That must have been a sight. Well maybe, just maybe, he will think twice before eating something out of curiosity.

And I thought I had it bad. Haru likes to eat sticks so she can't be in the backyard unsupervised. At all. Has to be on a leash for bathroom breaks because she will grab a stick and play catch me if you can and somehow manage to eat it while I am trying to get her. Glad you found the peroxide remedy and it worked. Has he been feeling well since?

He was fine right after expelling ALL of the soap (it seemed like much more, since it came up like foam, lol!)....still the ever mischievous super active silly and wonderful puppy!! Sticks and bark are part of both dogs' life; impossible to stop them from chewing up sticks, tearing them apart, pulling bark off- it looks like they eat stick (and maybe they get little pieces, who knows) but any little bit they get or chew does not affect them at all. It's what dogs do. My lab used to do much worse things- like eat a whole piece of cloth before I could stop her!!! It was 24 hours of watching her according to the vet...then if not expelled, bring her in. WELL! It was NOT fun to try and help it out when she tried her morning bowel movement. No words needed, LOL (poor dog...I used a stick to assist, believe it or not- Ewww...the things doggie mommies have to do!)

Sticks are a source of fascination, stick tossing/retrieving is Kitchee's favorite thing next to the frisbee...which, he is INSANE over. If we stop playing, and say ok, enough. Go play with Wyot...he will have none of it. He brings the frisbee with lots of whining and panting, and a helicopter tail that just won't stop, and he keeps this whistle/whine with, of course the cutest look on his face. I need to put it where he can't see it for him to understand the game is over.

Our wonderful, funny, silly amazing dogs!!!

How is Haru doing otherwise?
