Injury And Recovery

Recommended Posts

I see the last Dog of the Month was April. It kills me to see that much time has passed.

I injured my ankle in May, and have been rehabbing all this time. Our house has a lot of stairs. Bedrooms and computer room are upstairs, while the living spaces are on the main floor. Honestly, once I got down the stairs, I didn't come back up until I absolutely had to.

So, 5 months later, stairs are only scary first thing in the morning.

The upshot of this post is that IT IS TIME TO GET BACK TO WORK!

Anyone have a good snow, or Christmas picture? Send it to me via the PM system.

Glad you are are doing better Allison! This time last year I had my hip replaced and for obvious reasons, had to stay somewhere away from the rambunctious doggos to rehab. I have never missed them so much!! I felt awful leaving them but the reunion sure was sweet. :)

Glad to hear you are on the mend, and much better! Life certainly gives us some challenges...but we rebound. :)

Owie. Nothing like an injury to let us know how much we rely on our body parts. That can't have been easy with the dogs. Glad all is on the up side.

Every time I would go to the back door, Sitka would run ahead, stop in front of me, and look up at his leash. He never gave up on me. They really are the best pals. I would be ready to try a walk with one dog, but now we have snow and freezing rain. Can't afford to fall. Good thing we have a back yard and little Kooskie loves chase games.

They're okay. They haven't gained any weight.

Ahhhhh yes, the pit-falls of life. You must have really torn up your ankle. Ouch. Been there, done that one. So glad you are on the road to recovery.

When I tore my ankle up, just short of surgery, my foot was put into a cast...when the cast came off, I found myself in snow country with my children, and wore a ski boot all day for the next three month. (No I didn't ski, just shlepped my 2 youngling kids around the slopes). Haven't had a lick of problems since. Go figure. Must have been the extra boot support for a few months? Its been, well let me say, a very long time. We definitely heal faster at a younger age. Hope you make a full and fast recovery.
