Updates On Roe, Mojave X Shep

Recommended Posts

Hi y'all!

We wanted to share an update on our sweet boy Roe, who we picked up from Song Dog on 10/20/18 and brought home to Brooklyn, NY (after spending 3 days with him in the Redwoods in Norcal)! This is my partner and I's first AI pup and we are over the moon in-love. Ro is a smart, curious, confident, goofy, and nurturing boy. We've been sticking to tough-love training and he is dong great! We've had him on a firm schedule from day 1, he is crate and potty-trained, gets better on the leash every day, and has his basic obedience commands down. We've just started re-call training with a long leash and are solidifying "stay." While I am currently working full-time, my partner has been part-time since we got him. It has been ideal for training and adjusting him to his new pack and life! My partner is a therapist and we are very seriously thinking about getting him certified as an emotional support animal so she can bring him to sessions with clients. His temperament is so well-suited for this -- we'll be sure to give updates on this!

When we met Roe, Kim told us he was "sensitive" and that people who meet him may perceive this as shy but that this energy is not based in fear. There is nothing more true about Roe! He can sense our changes in mood and is highly perceptive of strangers demeanors. We've encouraged confidence in him but he came to us with a natural courage and assurance. I genuinely feel Kim gave us our best match with Roe and we couldn't be more grateful for his addition to our little family.

Go Roe!

My third AIDog is "sensitive", But I have learned that she is no push-over.

Kim told me that she would try to wrap me around her little paw, and I see her work the room with our guests. She's a Svengali. They all fall under her spell.

Glad to see you are keeping up the good training with Roe. It is so worth it.

Beautiful pictures.
