Hi Kim,

I don't even know where to start...but our newest member of the family - Khya - has slid into our family and had us laughing and smiling for the last 48 hours.

She was a little stressed when we took her out of the crate at Buffalo Airport. But nestled into my son's arms and fell asleep with him in the back seat. There was no going back in to the crate. Fed her a little goat's milk with her food, she peed and had A little bit of walk in the parking lot.

She cried LOUDLY on the highway about 45 minutes later. We pulled over, she did her business and had another 10 minutes of play. Slept all the way home to North York. A very long drive, we got lost when I lost my GPS signal.

Another bit of drink at home, another business trip and exploration of the home...laughs galore.

She slept like a rock - with my son. Up at 6:50 for a small walk. More fun before school. No accidents. I'm sure there will be - but she is loving, so curious, and SMART. Killed a stuffie toy and proudly trotted it around. She has walked on a leash with a halter already. Getting used to it. Small walks. Goes to the vet on Saturday.

We are over the moon.

Thank you Kim. I have a teenager. When he turns to me and says "Mom, I am so happy" - it means the world to me.

Those poor families in Florida.

Here's some preliminary photos!

Good Morning Kim,

I absolutely love the little girl you picked for me. She is beautiful and such a sweetheart! Her favorite place to be is with me. Whether that means in my lap, on my feet, even crawling onto my stomach to look me in the face if I'm laying down! Unfortunately I'm also her favorite chew toy, so we're working on that.

She's got such a personality that none of the names I had on my list could describe her. It took a full day of having her home and a bit more research before deciding on Haru, meaning Spring.

I'm looking forward to the coming adventures with her. She has already brightened my life so much and quite the quick albeit stubborn learner. This is going to be a wonderful ride .

Hi Kim and Greg!

I just wanted to give you an update on how our little boy "Nuttah" is doing. He is the cutest thing ever and had a fun time with me and my family on the drive back home. He slept for a good portion of the time. Nuttah is a curious one and is very observant. We are working on his crate training and helping him to feel comfortable in his new home. Thank you for all of your help in picking out the perfect dog for me! Have a great week!

Love,
Fallon

Hello,

here is the update on Blue (Sky). We made it home ok, he cried for like 40 min, then fell asleep. Once he woke up, looked at me and then he was ok. ever since then he is very attached, responsive and a sweet boy. He slept through ever night so far, we get up in the morning and he does his business outside. We had only a few accidents when i wasnt fast enough to take him out right after his meal. He is very smart. Already knows sit, lay down and getting pretty good with the call back too. Still challenging the word "no", but hey he is only 8 weeks old! He also knows by now, that if he wants something, he should not bite, bark or jump, just sit down. It is funny hoe he still tries those or about to do so, then you can see he is thinking and changing his strategy to sit down. Very sweet.

He is struggling with the crate and the exercise pen or in general being limited in his movement (like closed doors) regardless how big space he has. A little freedom fighter, but we are working on it slowly. If you had any similar experience and found a good way, let me know. Right now I am doing short times, with treats and of course after running around a bit so he should be tired. But still pushing (talking) back.

Otherwise he is a sweetheart and we are having a blast and i am so happy to have him! I have attached some images of him in his new home. Meanwhile got snowed in in Portland so we have lots of fun out in the yard.

Sounds like you are all doing great! I hear you on the "talking back"...or not enough room bit, lol! Kitchee, who is 8 weeks old yesterday, has an older brother, so, he is actually living up to his name, which means brave....he knows "sit", will go in after a potty break outside and sit for his treat- but still has pee accidents, because he is distracted by older brother and play! That is my main problem right now..he isn't as mouthy with me, because he climbs all over his brother, tries to jump on him, steals toys, but he gets as good as he gives, without complaint.

The only thing I have to say, is "tough love"...patience and consistency. It'll take a bit, but it will be worth it in the end.

Congrats!
