DarmokElizabethontheocean 199
I've been reading all the side effects about all the different heartworm medicines and they all have some pretty nasty side effects including death. Does anyone have any recommendations for heartworm medicines? And or what you currently use on your Indian dog?
Greg 2,662
Three of my dogs are on Heartguard and they do not have any issues with it. I use Iverheart on my youngest (11 months old) again with no side effect
Samie 175
I use heartguard (heartworms) and nexgard (fleas & ticks) together and Haru does fine. I used Sentinol for the first two months I had her, but it didn't do enough for flea control which is a must because of an allergy on my part. Talked to my vet and this is what they recommended trying.
Berta 54
I also use Heartguard and Nexguard with no problems. Berta

miz molly 1,800
We use heart guard (over 8 years) for heart worms, and Nexgard for fleas. Two Step is VERY sensitive to fleas and Nexgard works beautifully. No bad side effects on either.
Denise E. 1,485
We used to use Sentinel Spectrum and now our Vet prescribes Interceptor Plus for Tayamni and Coffey. (Spectrum & Plus for tapeworms - sheep can carry tapeworms and even though the sheep get wormed - my dogs eat sheep poop and I would rather be over cautious). Tayamni uses Bravecto 3 month pills for fleas and also a natural herbal repellent monthly. She is sensitive to flea bites. Coffey uses Frontline Plus (about every 6 weeks) and it worms well for him. He also has a different coat type than Tayamni.
NyteByker 535
Interceptor Plus (heartwor) and Bravecto (fleas and ticks); I keep Nakoma on them all year long. Even though we get cold snowy winters, our town is frequented a lot by tourists, and you never know what their dogs have, so I won't take "time off" the prevention pills. (We only just started the Bravecto in January, which is a once every three months pill. So he's only had three pills so far, and doesn't seem to have any problems with it).
