Wally La Flamme

Recommended Posts

Kim has asked me to pass on the following information to the entire IIDOBA Community.

Kim's father (Wally) suffered a stroke several days ago and has been in the hospital since the incident. Sadly this evening, Wally passed away while in the hospital. Kim wants everyone to know that his father was instrumental in helping him get the American Indian Dogs to where they are today .

Kim has felt the presence of the community around him over the last several days. He wishes to thank everyone for keeping him and his family in their thoughts during this time.

Kim knows that people want to call or send e-mails to him but please respect this private and personal time for him and his family.

You can continue to send your hopes, prayers, and good wishes to the thread Allison established the other day.

Here is that link:

The daily workings at the kennel will continue as there are pups scheduled to go to their new homes. Please contact me by Personal Messenger if there are any questions or concerns about kennel matters.

I have many great stories about my father, and you will be hearing them soon enough, but first and foremost I want you to know that I could not have saved our dogs in the manner we have without him.

The amount of space and time that it takes to have a healthy breeding stock, well, let's just say, he understood that it was not going to be just a few kennels in a backyard. It required a commitment that he was willing to help me make to save these dogs.

My father and I worked this ranch together for 35 years. He helped me, and I helped him, in so many ways.

We had all the struggles that you might imagine, but in the end, we stood up for each other.

I will miss him terribly, and yet, for me, he is here in everything I do.

A great father, friend, teacher....

It was an honor to talk and joke with him when I visited the ranch. I shall always remember him as "Mr. La Flamme", buzzing around on the four-wheeler, and teasing all of us dog people.

He was a very impressive man.
