Size is often the problem. I export my photos from iPhoto so I can select the medium size setting. I put them in a folder called "for sharing" then use the more reply options to find, select and post. Then I publish and test the picture. If I can open it all good. If I get the spinning lollipop of doom then I re-edit the post. Everything ends up in .JPEG format and around or under 150 KB. Hope that helps.

What I like about the pictures in this thread is that they are of excellent resolution and I don't have to open them to see them (but I can click on them and open if I want to). My JPEGs tend to show up small and when clicked on a larger version is visible. Don't know the geeky logistics of that.

DOWN LOADING PICS AND COMMENTS…AIdog forum

BEFORE YOU DOWN LOAD PHOTOS: Please make sure that the size of the photo is with in the limits of posting. I size them to Medium. Any larger takes a long time for the forum members to down load. Also, when you send pictures to Kim, make sure it is a medium size, and in the “correct up right, NOT sideways position as well. Thank you.

+To down load a photo, scroll down to THE BOX where it says “REPLY TO TOPIC.”

OR if you are starting a new topic, scroll down to the browse button on the bottom on the left.

+At the bottom right of the reply box where you would leave your message, you will notice a tab that says “MORE REPLY OPTIONS”

+CLICK on “MORE REPLY OPTIONS.”…a new box will appear.

+In the bottom left corner of the comment box you will see a paperclip, and three tabs. “Browse,” “Clear Section” “Attach this File”

+Clicking on the “Browse” button will take you to your desktop for choosing a photo.

+Click on the desired photo. When you click on the photo, it will prompt you to open it.

+the file will then appear in the window next to the “Browse” button.

+Just below the window with your photo file, click on the “Attach This File” button.

+A window appears just above the “ATTACH FILE” section

in that same box you will see “Add to Post” and “Delete.”

Click on “Add to Post”

THERE YOU GO…Happy posting your photos.

Molly, she is not talking about UPLOADING photos of her own, she is talking about DOWNLOADING the pictures to view, that someone else has posted.

Those particular photos are very large, and I believe they used bbc code to embed them, rather than our file attaching method, which gives us thumbnails, and saves space.

Please reduce the size of your pictures to save space and make them available to everyone. Or don"t.... But you will eventually run out of your allotted space, and people will complain.

Our official tutorial for adding photos to your post, can be found here.

ha ha ha Well, I'll be darned.....I thought DOWNLOAD was when you posted a photo on the forum and UPLOAD was when you brought that photo back up for viewing from the forum. ha ha ha .......down load, up load, side load, top load, truck load, S#*T load. I guess as far as tech stuff I'll always be going up the down staircase.

I have been trying to edit my profile by uploading a picture. It looks like the upload went fine but no picture in the profile still. Also tried to upload photo onto a new thread I created but it did not work. Can someone help me with this? I followed the instructions on this thread. Thank you.

Hey James, yes I can help you.

My first thought is that you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit "save" or whatever the save words are. It is a small thing, but also a big thing. I see that time after time on many pages of my own.

Otherwise, yes, send me the photo (PM me) and I can load it for you.

You should be getting an error message. What does it say?

Send me the picture. You can click on my name and email it.

Let me look at it.
