2017 Gathering Reviews And Photographs

Recommended Posts

Well the 2017 Gathering has come to an end. Although it was nice and sunny, the temps reached 97 degrees which made it very warm. There was a great turn-out with roughly forty (40) attendees for this year's Gathering. Attending this year's event were current AIDog owners, previous AIDog owners, a few on the waiting list and one couple who drove out from Minnesota to pick up their first AIDog puppy.

I would like to thank everyone who attended this year's event. This event would not be successful without the support of everyone who attended as well as some who could not make it. This annual event is for you the owners but it is also for Kim who greatly enjoys watching as owners and their adult AIDogs return to where their journey began.

So many jumped in and assisted in one way or another during the event. So let me just say, thank you to everyone for their help.

I do want to send out a special thank you to Julie who set up her agility course for dogs and owners to enjoy. Also a thank you to Judy who recommended Brian Carvalho from Pawsitive Dog Of Southern Oregon who gave a brief introduction / explanation followed by a demonstration on canine nose work. I have received several positive comments about the demonstration as well some who were interested in checking it out further.

It appeared as if everyone had a great time this year, I know I did. I was only able to get a few photographs during the canine nose work demonstration, event but I know there were many people with cameras taking pictures throughout the day. I hope some of those photographs will find their way here for all to enjoy. I apologize since I totally forgot to get a group photograph this year. I will post what few pictures I was able to get.

We had a great time again this year as you can see in our attached pictures, thank you Greg for all that you do to keep the Gathering going. Thank you Julie for spending so much time with our kids on the agility course... They loved it! The canine nose work was amazing and as always one our favorite parts of the trip is going to back to Song Dog to visit all of the dogs and of course the new puppies. Thank you Kim for opening your home to us… What a fun day!!!

Life is so funny sometimes! I was so disappointed at first that I couldn't have a puppy In July as planned. It took some prayer, etc., to shift gears and be happy about waiting until September. So, I came on down to the gathering and had a wonderful time. Being at the kenned, meeting Kim and Greg, and seeing the dogs whose pictures I had been staring at for months was just perfect. The gathering itself was amazing - so many different personalities, dogs and humans; seeing the kids with the dogs and puppies was especially wonderful. I really enjoyed watching agility work (thanks so much, Julie!), and the nose work. All in all it was a great time, and I came home and settled in to wait.

One week later I receive a call from Greg offering me the 3rd puppy, as Kim had decided not to keep her after all and that I was a good match! So, off to Selma I go to pick her up this coming Th.!!!! Wow! (I promise that pictures will be forthcoming once I figure out the tech:) To anyone in my area, we'll be looking for play dates!

Love to all,

My daughter and I have been trying to post pictures here but can't figure it out. It won't post them cause they're too large. Any suggestions?

What a great bunch of photos! I don't have any forum-worthy pictures from my short visit to SDK, but I have lots of wonderful memories, especially from all of those wet noses. Berta: Congratulations on your puppy! I remember how stunning they all were. I hope to catch the nose-work and agility demonstrations next time!
