Stop The Sanctioned Slaughter Of Wolves In Alaska

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I wanted to ask if any of y'all would get on board and sign the petition to stop the practice of aerial wolf hunting in Alaska.

Watch video and consider signing petition

I am not a big red vs. blue kind of guy b/c they are all politicians to me. However in the realm of human rights and animal rights things like this just burn me up. At least I can try to do something...so I did...I signed the petition. It was simple and easy to do. Please y'all consider this b/c somone needs to stand up for these guys. ;)

This video is even more disturbing now than it was during the campaign, when it first came to light about Governor Palin's support of this awful practice. It's not even just this - as horrible as it is - but her all around views on conservation agenda. It scares me and sickens me that there are people out who support this for whatever reason's they do. Thanks, Jason for bringing this to my attention ...I didn't know they were resurrecting it.

I don't suppose that I can be of much help except join the UK Wolf Conservancy, it does a lot of work working abroad with wolves, such as the Mexican Red, the Ethiopian and wolves in Eastern Europe and educating people about the reality of the wolf.

My daughter bought me for Christmas 2007 a walk with the wolves, it's been so popular that we couldn't get on a walk until the end of this last January.

It was amazing, we went for a walk with 3 of the wolves in woodland, and then went back to the conservancy.

One wolf (a North American) was being treated for cancer, the vets wanted to destroy her, as they said she would only live for another 6 months maximum, but there she is living life to the full 2 years later.

Another one, a male european, was not getting around too well, seemed to be having problems with a back leg. they explained that last year, he had been playing and sumersaulted badly and broke the same vertebra as Christopher Reeve, the vets again wanted to destroy him, but they decided after talking to somene in America, they would leave it for a time.

He started to move by pulling himself along, by two paws and his chin, then amazingly he got up and walked and lives as much as he can normally.

These animals are amazing, yes I can see the way our dogs move are in the same 'easy' way, I don't think apart from in wolves that I have seen the pace that is next to a walk, before a trot, it's so easy and fluid, with that light stepping spring.

As Tina says it's not that Shunka looks like a wolf, but so many mannerisms are similar.

Could go on for ages about this, but will leave it for another time, but ,,,,
