We were on the annual road trip and Coffey turned ONE year old!

We woke up in Oklahoma on his Birthday and then visited with an Elder.

He saw his fist Buffalo on his Birthday!

Hard to believe that Coffey is a year old already. Time has gone by fast. Happy Birthday to Coffey.

I think Coffey looks a lot like his Mom Nosie. I can't believe that his has the thinner plains dog body. Well OK I believe it because I see it! I think he would have the thicker fur if we lived in a cooler climate.

We got a weight on him on Monday and he is just over 35 lbs now at almost 14 months old.

He has a lot of Talhtan attitude traits (from what I've read up about the dogs in books and on the web). Of course he has the AI Dog friendliness

He was 31 pounds just before a year old. He has finally started putting on weight - still eating the same amount. I guess he just is having a late growth spurt. He was 10 pounds lighter than Tayamni at the same age.

I'm thinking he'll top out at 39 - 41 pounds at 2 years old. We'll see! I thought Tayamni would be 45 - 48 pounds at almost 2 years old she is almost 52 pounds. The Vet said she is a perfect weight but don't let the hoover vacuum get heavier (she has no self regulation like Coffey does). I think the key is getting them enough exercise - which we do. I can tell on Tayamni's abdomen if she's not getting enough and Coffey gets bored destructive if not enough dog park time!

It's all good - it keeps me moving around! Still looking forward to be able to hike more with them. It is so fun traveling with them - I love it! They love the yearly trip too!!!!!
