This is absolutely heart warming. Snake is so gentle, you can see it in his eyes. He knows that this woman needs a little love. Wonderful Pic Linda.

I am thinking about Linda telling us how timid Snake can be, and also thinking of how he got his name, and then looking at this photo. It makes me wonder if his timidity isn't one of his strengths? He gets people to comfort him, and for those minutes, they forget about themselves.

Look at him all curled up, and this lovely lady shows no fear even though she is at a great disadvantage. Snake has pulled her out of her routine to embrace him, and comfort him, and in doing so, has given her power.

That is good medicine. Smart dog. I do hope to get a chance to meet him, one day.

These dogs are so sweet and gentle. What a wonderful thing for both of them. They both get love and comfort. I am recommending this breed to our next-door neighbor who is confined to a wheelchair. His companion dog died last year. When he comes over, Murphy puts his front feet on the wheelchair's footrest so that he can get closer to him.

Murhpy, you mean our last month's dog? That is so cool, that Murphy has found a way to get closer, very gently closer. Just like Snake, here, in this photo.

I mentioned in another thread that Danza's favorite thing to do is get as far up on the bed or couch as I'll let her. She's not very gentle about it, though, unless I ask her to be! The thing she likes is the closeness, and being up high. Seeing Snake on the bed is very familiar, and not at all a surprise. Plus he looks so very much like my dog, except he doesn't have that half-demon look in his eye. :D She would make a terrible medicine dog, unless what you need is to laugh and worry a little.

Last night he laid on the couch and put his head on one of my sons friends which is odd for him, he usually stays as far aways from them as possible . Good news I am getting snake a little brother or sister I talked to kim and he said a puppy would be better .so hopefully by february we will have a pup danza would probably be ok as therapy dog they usually dont get on the beds unless asked they are usually sitting beside the person or like snake lays on the floor and anyone can always use a laugh haha

Hi Linda,

How old is Snake, and how long has he been a therapy dog. I am really interested in going down this path with Tolinka and would love to hear about the steps you took, with Snake. And of course your experiences while going there. I know they have to pass tests and all, but that's about all I know. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Linda.
