liz 9
I know what you mean. That was exactly my reaction. Look at her smile.. Me too! Rattlesnake avoidance! glad we don't have to do that one! we have had adders(vipers) in our garden but they usually get out of the way before there is trouble. Their bite is not too bad though, rather like a nasty wasp sting, can vouch for that one unfortunatley! Ooh rah reminds me of Shunka, the same superior look too, except the strio up the nose is dark and not white like Shunka's. Edited May 9, 2008 by liz
Allison 2,369
Yes, they all have that superier, cool, AIDog look. Pete's dog has that look, too.
Gavin 0
Great picture! Wow, that's so cool to see 4 adult AIDogs together like that. They do all look like maybe they think they taught her a thing or two. Unfortunately, rattlesnakes are something we DO have to worry about, how do I find out more about "Rattlesnake Avoidance Training?" -Gavin
Allison 2,369
It's pretty cool. Let me find what she wrote me, and I'll post it. Seems the guy will come to you, if you have at least four dogs. Gretchen is traveling, now, but maybe she'll come on, and tell you, herself.

We have already had a Mohave Green and a Diamondback rattler in our subdivision. Well we are in the middle of the desert . They do use a form of shock therapy in this class. Locals at the dog park that have gone through the class say it is well worth the $. Edited May 12, 2008 by Larry O & Karen
liz 9
As I said before, adders do not give a really bad bite, but Shunka has now lost one of his hareem a golden blonde labrador friend, they have grown up together so she was nearly 10 as he is. Unfortunatley she had cancer, which was thought to be rife through her body, and she was bitten by an adder in her throat, this aggravated the cancer and she had to be put down, she will be sadly missed on his walks. So far no problem with Shunka and adders, we have had them in the garden but no problems. We usually have grass snakes after our fish and frogs, but they are not poisonous at all. They usually get out of the way before there is trouble.
Gavin 0
I am having trouble finding anyone in Oregon or Washington that offers this training. California & Arizona only. Anyone else have a source? -Gavin
Allison 2,369
Hi. I just got back from Japan. Let me catch up, and I'll find Gretchen's info. She said her guy will come to you, if you have four dogs. I think we can do that; maybe give this guy a few gigs. So I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Kaily with Sikari 1
That is a really great picture of the four of them and they all look so happy! I LOVE IT!
Allison 2,369
The guy is A.J. from Natural Solutions naturalsolutionsrattlesnaketraining.com and they come to you to do the training in your own environment. $75 per dog and if you have 4 or more he waives the $50 travel fee (he came from palm springs to san clemente!) it took about 1.5 hours for all 4 dogs and we thought it was great. He uses live snakes and muzzles them and de-venoms before bringing them. very informative. He said most dogs do well with once a year training right around spring and are good after 3 sessions. some need it every year. we had a blast! except for the shocks of course but it was a quick lesson-gretchen
