  1. I'm nervous to ask, but very curious on peoples thoughts. I have had two friends recently get puppies (not American Indian Dogs!). The dogs were both sent to training and came home with Ecollars to continue their training. What's the deal with these collars? Do people think they're awful? I did feel the "shock" and am gathering that it is more of a nudge/reminder to the dog? I plan on training my pup on my own. Trying to read as much as I can. Have been looking online at videos of E collar training. Thoughts?
  2. So, now Wyot has become comfortable in his surroundings. He is SO playful, so funny, chasing his tail, rolling around on the floor, and tossing his toys in the air and catching them! I still cannot believe he is so incredibly smart at this young age....he SITS when I tell him to. He looks up when I call his name. He is in full teething mode, and of course, tries to nip at my boots, my pants, and pretty much anything. Here comes tough love! I read through the subject on here, and as Kim advises, I am trying to nip it in the bud. I tried baring my teeth at him like momma would do, and he

    Poor Sitka

If you look closely at this picture, you will see that Sitka has lost his ruff--the thick collar of fur around his neck. His Barber is Kooskie. I didn't realize how bad it was until I picked up a large clump of fur, and matched it to his ruff. The poor boy is getting the brunt of it. She hasn't chewed on anything or anyone else, just him. He is so terrific with her, and she can sometimes be a beautiful terror to him. Good thing he loves her. He's hoping for those babyteeth to start falling.
