  1. Denise- lol Thanks! The one on his back is very helpful! And thank you to everyone else that took or tried to take photos. I know exactly how hard that can be.
  2. Those look like some sharp teeth! I give Darmok a variety of things to clean his teeth. I also fiddle with his teeth/mouth on a regular basis to keep him accustomed to it so he'll let the vet examine his mouth/teeth during check ups.
  3. Darmok's vet is a very skilled and practical woman. She's all about the watch and weight method which I completely agree with. He's seeing her tomorrow for his Banefield twice yearly checkup and vaccines. I'll keep you posted but am pretty sure we will just continue to watch and wait. He doesn't appear to have any difficulty eating unless you count getting potato peels off the floor, which he somehow manages to do - lol. He'll be getting his first dental cleaning in a couple of months as well. I'll talk to her about the option of grinding that one tooth down if she thinks that's even necessary
  4. I'm very informed about Darmok's overbite and dental issues as well as all other posts in this forum going back years. Kim informed me of this overbite when he offered me this puppy. I'm asking for photos of "normal".
  5. Don't know why to this posted twice. Could an admin delete this one please?
  6. If your able could you post a photo of your dog's mouth and upper teeth similar to the ones I've posted of Darmok's? I want to show them to his vet next time we go in. She's thinking about sending us to a doggie Dentist but she hasn't decided yet. I'd like to show her what "normal" looks like for our breed. Darmok was asleep on his back when I took the closed mouth photo and the open mouth took about 5 tries. You can see how his bottom canines are making dents in the roof of his mouth.

  8. A year ago today, I left songdog kennel with Darmok in my arms. It's been a wild rollercoaster ride of good and bad. There's been many times I've looked at this guy and thought WTF am I doing with such a high energy, highly intelligent, strong willed pup. Then I think wth would I do with a docile dog if I had one. Having him has certainly improved the quality of my life as well as my physical strength. I'm very curious about what this next 12 months will look like. He has learned multiple commands successfully which has included doing such things as letting me put my phone in his mouth and ta
  9. Some one asked me again today how many AI dogs are out there. I said ah ha I know that answer!
  10. Darmok is a very high energy 14 month old and has been injured a couple of times. Once at the dog park he was playing with a 100 pound Mastiff pup who rolled over on to both of Darmok's front legs. It was pretty horrible. I kept him in the house for about a week and gave him puppy asprin as directed. Also, he yelps every now and again when we get back from dog parks. He's just so active that I just expect now that he's going to be sore. An adrenaline junkie friend of mine told me once that since he's into extreme sports he's bound to have extreme injuries from time to time. I apply that thinki
  11. Someone at the dog park asked me how many AI dogs there are in the world. I thought it was an interesting question. Could someone provide me with a number?
  12. They are Darmok's half-siblings as well. His father is Jay silver heels too.
  13. Darmok seems to be healed up nicely.the biggest concern was the incision in his inner upper leg/thigh area where the retained testicle was removed. The skin is just so thin there but the vet did an excellent job and pup and I made it through the healing process. Just got home from the dog park. Darmok ran like the wind. Comments from the other dog owners included statements such as "he's like a cheetah", I thought my dog was fast til I saw yours", "he looks like he's jogging (while the auzzie was running full speed after him but couldn't catch up)", "he's got a beautiful stride" I r
  14. And the pup facing away from the camera in photo 1 is not an AI dog? And the one in number 3 (showing its teeth) is that pup grown up, but is a shepherd? That one and Darmok could be twins. Very interesting!
  15. Which one is cake? Darmok's father is Jay silver heels.
  16. OMG no wonder people stop me and ask what kind of shepard Darmok is.
  17. 7 days post surgery and Darmok is healing very nicely. The cone has been off for the last 2 days because Darmok is doing excellently with leaving his stitches alone. We took 1/2 mile walk today and he's now sound asleep. He really wants and needs to run with his dog park pack but that's another week away.
  18. Which pup is in photo number 8? He looks so much like Darmok!
  19. I have one of Jay's pups as well. Could you post a photo of him?
