Raw Food For Your Puppy?? What Are You Feeding And How Much?
taylorRichie replied to taylorRichie's topic in Dog Talk
They absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the NuPro... If I walk near the bucket they run down to their crates thinking it's feed time If anyone ever had any trouble crate training a dog... get some nupro and only feed it to them in their crates. I mostly make gravy out of it. Crack an egg mix it up, add water as needed and then drop the chicken quarter in with it. Of course now my dogs seem to be bouncing off the wall with even MORE energy. Can't wait for the dog parks to open. Few more weeks! -

I now add a scoop of Nupro gold to their food Just for that extra kick of nutrients. Boulder has been on the RAW diet since I got him, and he's been doing great... occasionally he'll turn down a veggie, or a fruit, but Breuer is quick to take it Still just use RAW chicken "leg quarters" they come in a bag previously frozen, and they're 69ยข a Pound. I think it's actually cheaper than a high quality kibble. Other than you have to find a place to store in the fridge, and freezer. -
Yeah great name... how'd you come up with that Matt has 'dog-sat' my little boulder on a number of occasions, and will be watching him, and breuer, again in a week... for a full week... Should be a fun/interesting time, 2 dogs, and a pup. Good luck! Matt is my nephew for the record

Too funny... But I'd worry more about what the puppy will teach the adults... Breuer was a well disciplined easy going dog, then Boulder came along and taught him the Joys of Digging, Collecting Shoes, Drinking Toilette water, and Helping himself to the garbage

Protection, and Ring sports are a sticky subject here I have a Dutch Shepherd that I used to take for Ring Sports Training, and a little bit of Schutzhund. I actually never had the intention of doing protection work with my AID, but I definitely think he could excel at it. (Ring sports more the Schutzhund since there is more obedience and agility). The main reason I didn't continue with training my Dutchie... I didn't have the discipline, and I'm not sure he had the heart. This all comes with a big caveat. These dogs are small! Even a big one is small... The biggest AID, is about

I tried the basement on day one. Tried it with a blanket over the top, and without... half way through the first night, I moved the crate next to my bed. In my case it worked much much better. I have two dogs so he never has to sleep alone. Crate next to bed, puppy in it almost all the time. I set an alarm for 2 hours, and took him out every two hours. After the first week or so, I took the alarm away, and Boulder would wake up on his own, give a little whimper, and I'd take him out. By the end of the first week he didn't even fuss when I put him in the crate after going potty, he knew

I got very lucky with Boulder... He had Breuer to train him. Boulder was never a nippy pup, because he tried on Breuer several times, and Breuer let him know better. Also Breuer potty trained Boulder in no time, I only had 2 number 2 accidents in the house, and only a handful of wets in his crate (just couldn't quite make it) Why am I saying this? If you take on the role that Breuer did you should be able to have great success too. If your pup is biting to hard, grab his scruff firmly and flip him over. Kim told me a little squeal as a pup will go a long way. One squeal will s

nice!! So far the baby made the dogs STOP barking... very odd... they're more interested in the baby than noises. But if that changes, I'm getting one!

Hello Allison, Thanks for the inquiry We're not quite yet parents... Today is the official due date, and it looks like next Thursday will be the date of the baby unless something changes in the next week, which might very well happen. We're excited and anxious I'll have to post some pictures of the nursery... very cute, and I think unlike anything anyone's seen. Now if I can tame the dogs so they're not waking the baby every 5 minutes while they wrestle...

Welp... this thread inspired me to get going on the scootering thing... I just bought a Diggler DSK, and took Breuer just a minute ago for a trial run... I don't have a proper harness, or line yet, but tried with a long line leash, and a Standard Harness... TOO MUCH FUN!! I can't wait until he understands fully what to do... And I can see how both of us will be getting worn out! I'll take some pictures next go around (tomorrow)... The little one (boulder) just watched us, and I could tell he was jealous... Still to small, but the end of next summer, I'll be doing a double pull.
